My first sewing project!

I really wanted to start sewing my own vintage inspired clothes. So I would be sure they would fit and it would be original.
I started with the project in January. First I found the pattern: Simplicity 5403. I'm not going to put a picture of it on here, because it says: "costumes for adults". Go figure. I just wanted a real circle skirt, so I thought to hell with it! Then I found some lovely fabric with a light stripe in green. What's it made of? Haven't got the foggiest.
The whole experience of pinning and cutting was fun, but tedious. After it was cut, I didn't touch it for a few months.
Yes, I was terrified of the sewing machine!
And then like magic I just really wanted to make the damn thing. So I did. My mum helped me along the way. Just because I know lessons would frustrate me. Not that the skirt came together without frustration, but that's the fun of it? Right?
Either way I finished it after working on it a bit every night for a week. And I'm really proud of myself!
I already started a new project this weekend. Guess what? I've already been busy with the sewing machine!
The sound of that thing is getting addictive!

Three posts in one.

So three things to talk about. First of all this is an outfit post. The pictures are from last week, when it was unseasonally gorgeous weather. My lovely dress and belt are from Vivien Of Holloway. The glasses, I'm not sure!
Number two in this post is my lovely hair, if I do say so myself. My second try at pincurls. At first I look like I just put my fingers into an electrical socket. however after a few firm brush strokes all is well.
Now the third item is a bit of a trial. I wanted to achieve red lips, without all the fuss of lipliner. So I tried Super Stay 24 by Maybelline New York. I went for Red Passion, of course. Great colour and it does stay 24 hours, if not more. The best way to achieve this is to wait a while to apply the balm after you've put on the colour. I like it a lot, just because my beauty routine is a bit faster with it. Great for the day time. So here are the pictures!

Procrastination is a thief of time

Or so they say. I've been on a knitting streak for a while. However finishing things is not my strong suit. But today I had enough of that. Every piece that was needed for my beret was knitted. But I still had to attach the bow to the beret. To use another proverb: the proof is in the pudding. So here's a picture! This pattern can be found in: A Stitch In Time, volume 2. Written by Susan Crawford & Jane Waller.

Oops...forgot it!

Shame on me! I totally forgot to post a picture from my last adventure at the Roma! Blame it on working nights, works for me ;) Soooo, here it is. Lovely picture in a vintage setting (of course). And the lovely lady on the right is my mum.
